As outlined in the Town of Red Cedar Public Nuisance Ordinance No. 2016-9, the town has established regulations to prohibit and/or control public nuisances for public health and safety reasons.
Under the terms of the ordinance, the town board may grant an exception and issue a permit to allow on public or private lands in the town, any of the following:
- The storage in the open on private premises of vehicles, structures, machinery, appliances, or equipment in the town that are subject to Section 6 of the ordinance;
- The maintenance of buildings, structures, or dwellings in the town which are subject to Section 6 of the ordinance; and
- The storage, disposal, treatment, or discharge of items, waste, and materials in the town which are subject to Section 6 of the ordinance.
Fees are $100.00 per permit if issued on any real property of two acres or less and $500.00 if issued on any real property of two acres or more. Penalties apply as outlined in the ordinance if a permit is not obtained.
